Blood Cancer UK is a charity devoted to the research and support of those battling to beat all types of blood cancer. Since 1960, Blood Cancer UK has invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. They fund world-class research to ensure everyone affected has access to the right support at the right time, and campaign for better treatments.

Blood Cancer UK’s research and patient services greatly relies on the donations from supporters, but the charity found that the user journey of the existing online donation experience wasn’t optimised.
The charity wanted to be able to create different campaigns across the year including Christmas and Summer appeals, but found there was no easy way to update the website for a specific appeal. Differing landing pages could be created, but these then led to the same user journey, creating confusion for the donor with the change from a specific campaign to just generic journey messaging.
Blood Cancer UK were also needing to integrate into their CRM, MS Dynamics 365, more efficiently as their existing method was not adequate.

Upon approaching goDonate, the charity found that the Plus version of platform would provide an effective solution to their needs. The back-end administration enables the fundraising team to spin different campaign journeys for appeals. It was a bonus to the charity that goDonate also provides individual campaign reporting to enable the charity to compare the success of each appeal and help with strategic planning.
Integration with MS Dynamics 365 was no issue as goDonate can integrate into the majority of CRM systems using APIs or CSV files, allowing the essential data Blood Cancer UK needed to be saved easily into their CRM in an automated way.
With the help of goDonate, the charity put forward their business case internally to use goDonate Plus and the platform was subsequently successfully integrated into their website to handle all donations including cash and regular giving.
Comparing a 2-month time period pre- and post-goDonate implementation, Blood Cancer UK has seen an increase of online income by 124% and an increase of transactions by 170%.
The benefit of using goDonate was quickly realised. Blood Cancer UK saw an increase in online income of 124% and an increase in the average gift of 22%. The charity was delighted with these results especially given the current cost of living crisis.
