We were delighted to return to this year’s CIOF Fundraising Convention with our exhibition stand, and to reconnect in person with so many fundraisers, charity leaders, and digital teams to talk all things online giving.
Across two lively days, we had some really engaging conversations about how charities are approaching digital fundraising – from optimising conversion to improving supporter experience. Many were thinking about how their online donation platforms could evolve to meet changing expectations and deliver stronger results.

Visitors to our stand were particularly interested in:
- The flexibility, performance and user experience of an optimised donation platform
- Online in-memory tribute fundraising for meaningful in-memory giving
- What opportunity there is to allow supporters to leave messages and tributes with a choice to donate
There was plenty of reflection on current challenges too – from outdated giving journeys to limitations in A/B testing and integration. It was encouraging to see so many charities actively exploring new ways to create smoother, more effective donation experiences.

Our own Vicky Reeves also took to the stage with NSPCC’s Lee Bellingham. Their session explored how the NSPCC has improved online giving performance by using data and behavioural design techniques – with A/B testing playing a key role in ongoing optimisation. The session was a brilliant reminder on how data-led strategies can unlock big results for both large and smaller charities.
We also had the chance to attend sessions across themes like innovation, increasing engagement and building a sustainable future in fundraising. The energy and shared ambition across the sector was inspiring. We left reminded of the positive impact that online fundraising can help to achieve.
If you’d like to explore any of the topics or tools we discussed at CIOF, we’d be happy to continue the conversation.
